Heidi Klum, the 39-year-old supermodel, "Project Runway" host and "America's Got Talent" judge, is now a lifeguard as well, having helped rescue her son and his two nannies from a riptide off a Hawaiian beach over the weekend.

While vacationing on Oahu, the German model's son Henry, 7, was swept away along with his two nannies by a riptide, prompting Klum and her bodyguard-boyfriend Martin Kristen to spring into action, according to Us Weekly.

"We got pulled into the ocean by a big wave. Of course, as a mother, I was very scared for my child and everyone else in the water," Klum said. "Henry is a strong swimmer and was able to swim back to land. We were able to get everyone out safely."

Klum traveled to the island for the Easter holiday with her four children, Leni, 8, whom she had with Italian Businessman Flavio Briatore, and Henry, Johan, 6, and Lou, 3, whom she had with her singer-songwriter ex-husband Seal.

The German model separated from Seal in January 2012. She confirmed that she and Kristen had been dating since last September, reported the Los Angeles Times.

"I’ve known him for four years and he’s been with our family for the last four years," Klum said of Kristen on Katie Couric's "Katie" after the separation. "He’s cared for our entire family, mostly for our four children, helped us tremendously... I trust him with my children’s life. He’s a great man, you know, and we just got to know each other from a completely different side."

Seal told TMZ that he wished his ex had waited until they were divorced before she decided to "fornicate with the help." However, both Klum and Seal have emphasized that she had not cheated during their time together, according to the Huffington Post.
