The Florida Golden Corral accused of storing food near dumpsters during a health inspection has spoken out and blamed the incident on one of the restaurant's managers.
An employee at the chain's Port Orange location posted a video on YouTube last week showing racks of baby-back ribs, beef patties, bacon, gravy, green bean casserole, and other menu items sitting next to dumpster trash bins while the location was being inspected.

"Apparently, what my company likes to do when they get ready for inspection is put the food by the dumpsters,"
employee Brandon Huber says in the clip. "I cook this food every day and now I see what is involved. As an employee here, I would not eat this stuff."
Huber's videos of Golden Corral's dumpster food gained speed on social news site Reddit along with photos posted by user "GCWhistleblower" showing a very dirty kitchen.
Now, the owner of the Port Orange Golden Corral is speaking out.
"Golden Corral Corporation and I take great pride in maintaining high standards of food quality, sanitation, and guest experience," owner Eric Holm said in a posting on the chain's Facebook page.
"The Port Orange incident was a result of the associate manager making a bad decision to improperly store food when the corporate inspector made a routine, unannounced visit to the restaurant. I apologize that a member of my management team made this bad decision."
"To be clear, this inspection was conducted by Golden Corral Corporation. Brandon Huber did notify my area manager of the issue, and we acted swiftly to dispose of all the improperly stored foods. No guest was served any of this food that was handled improperly. Brandon Huber actually assisted in the disposal of the food items the day before he posted the videos. I am personally disappointed that Mr. Huber chose to post the videos and make false statements after the situation was corrected."
But Holm's statement did little to satisfy the angry customers who were grossed out by the dumpster food.
"Figures you would put the blame on Brandon, take responsibility you gutless wonder," one Facebook user wrote.
"I am actually disappointed Golden Corral continues to make false statements, delete criticism, threaten whistleblowers, and lie to their customers about their quality control when evidence to the contrary has been posted," another posted.
"I'm sure you're only sorry you got caught."
"Instead of being disappointed in Brandon Huber, you should hire him as one of your lead inspectors," one other commented. "He obviously isn't going to let stuff slide and could help turn your image around. You know once you have his public approval you'll earn the public's trust back. If it was really one bad apple like you say, then this should help your company ensure this doesn't happen again."
