A Golden Corral Dumpster is at the center of an internet uproar.

A Golden Corral employee in Florida is being called the Edward Snowden of the restaurant industry after he uploaded a YouTube video last week that shows food being stored next to Dumpsters temporarily while his store was undergoing health inspections.

The Golden Corral in Port Orange reportedly wheeled out racks of baby-back ribs, beef patties, bacon, gravy, green bean casserole, and other menu items to the Dumpsters while the location was being inspected.

"Apparently, what my company likes to do when they get ready for inspection is put the food by the Dumpsters," employee Brandon Huber says in the clip.

In a second video, Huber says he feel conflicted about what to do about the poor food storage.

"I cook this food every day and now I see what is involved. As an employee here, I would not eat this stuff," he said. "I'm scared of my employment. I don't know who to tell but I don't want to cook this food. I don’t feel safe with it. My management is gonna wheel it back into the coolers after the inspection, like nothing happened… I will show this to whoever I can to prevent any food-borne illnesses from spreading."

The cook's videos of Golden Corral's Dumpster food gained speed on social news site Reddit along with photos posted by user "GCWhistleblower" showing a very dirty kitchen.

Golden Corral attempted to downplay the situation in the comments section of one of the YouTube videos.

"None of these items were served to a single customer. All food items were destroyed within the hour at the direction of management," the buffet chain wrote, along with a list of things to note about Huber's videos. "1. Brandon Huber, the employee who made this video, participated in the disposal of the food. 2. The following day, the father of the employee posted an offer to sell the video for $5,000, which was not accepted. 3. The manager involved in the improper storage was terminated for failing to follow approved food handling procedures."

But the damage was done.

Below are the images and captions that Reddit user GCWhistleblower uploaded Monday to the social news site.

Even if Golden Corral's response to the Dumpster video was true, it remains to be seen if the stigma will stick.
