After interviewing scores of celebs throughout the years, E! News host Giuliana Rancic revealed that her number one most-awkward interview was definitely with Russell Crowe.

Appearing on sister-network Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live!" Wednesday night, Rancic was prompted for her most awkward interview by an audience member. After wracking her brain for a minute – admitting "there have been a lot of awkward ones" – she had an epiphany and it became clear as day: "Oh, I know! Duh! Russell Crowe was so mean to me."

Firm in her knowledge that she'd been wronged by Crowe, she quiped "Hey Russell, what's up?" before launching into the tale.

The young Rancic had been at E! for only about a year when she was tasked with interviewing the star at a movie premiere.

Thinking to herself, "I'm going to go easy on him because he's pretty tough," she said to Crowe, "Are you excited to be here? Your big movie premiere!" To this, Crowe apparently responded, "I'm contractually obligated to be here. What's your next question?"

Discouraged, but not finished, Rancic soft-balled a second question: "OK, um, isn't it so wonderful to see all the fans?"

"That's your second question?" Crowe asked indignantly. "'One, two, you're through' and [he] walked away."

"Wooow," responds show host Andy Cohen in disbelief.

Despite her terrible experience, Rancic continues to interview celebrities, most of whom are very nice.

One of them, "Apprentice" winner Bill Rancic, asked Giuliana out after their interview, and later they got married in 2007. Bill proposed to her in a helicopter, even.

Together, the couple battled Giuliana's breast cancer diagnosis in 2011, and star in their own reality show, "Bill and Giuliana" on the Style Network.
