Gai Scott, nephew of VH1 reality show star and rapper Raymond "Benzino" Scott, has been accused of shooting his uncle Saturday while traveling in a funeral procession on their way to a church in Plymouth, Mass., authorities said.

Authorities said that Gai Scott, 36, was driving a Bentley when he allegedly pulled alongside Benzino Scott's vehicle and shot at him. The elder Scott, 48, was taken to the Duxbury Police Department and then transported to a hospital, according to MyFoxBoston.com.

Benzino Scott, a star on "Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta," was listed in good condition at South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth, Mass., a hospital spokeswoman told The Associated Press. A funeral Mass for his mother, Mary A. Scott, was scheduled for Plymouth's St. Peter's Church on Saturday.

"I looked over, there was a car, and all I saw was a gun shooting at me," Benzino Scott told the Boston Globe from his hospital bed. Scott said he was fired at "seven or eight" times.

"I was trying to duck and dodge, drive around it, maneuver the car," he added. "I was bleeding a lot. I was driving with my thumb in my shoulder to try to stop the bleeding."

Plymouth prosecutors said that Gai Scott, of Randolph, Mass., will be arraigned on Monday in Plymouth district court.

"When you have wakes and funerals, there are other things that are involved like with the families," Benzino Scott told NE Hip-Hop.com. "I was more embarrassed than anything to be honest with you because of me being a public figure and having to see my family's going through that. I didn't appreciate that but at the end of the day my mother is up there with her family now."

In addition to being a cast member on "Love and Hip Hop," Benzino Scott is the CEO of Hip-Hop Weekly. He is the former co-owner of The Source magazine before leaving the publication in 2006 to launch Hip-Hop Weekly.
