Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel got pranked at his own wedding last weekend – set up by his future wife – when she got Oscar-nominated actress Gabourey Sidibe to walk down the aisle to the surprise of the comedian.

Molly McNearney, a co-head writer on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," organized the stunt where the crowd – including Matt Damon, Jennifer Aniston and Emily Blunt – saw Sidibe stroll down aisle in a halter-style wedding dress and a long veil, reported US Weekly. ()

"Everyone was standing up when it was time for Molly to walk down the aisle, but instead of Molly, Gabourey appeared and took Molly's walk down the aisle," US Weekly said a source told them. "It was so funny. Jimmy was 100 percent completely surprised – he had no idea. Molly resumed her walk down the aisle after the joke ran its course. She even set the whole thing up."

After the gag, Sidibe changed into a red dress and white flats for the 20-minute ceremony.

"Molly and Jimmy were looking into each other's eyes the entire time," a source told US Weekly. "But there were also several jokes that had the entire crowd in stitches."

According to UPI.com, Sidibe, 30, has participated in several of Kimmel's popular video sketches. Most recently, she appeared in "(I Wanna) Channing All Over Your Tatum," along with Miley Cyrus, Matt Damon, Olivia Munn and Jamie Foxx, said UPI.com.

Sidibe played the title role in the movie "Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire" in 2009. The role earned Sidibe a slew of acting nominations, including one for best actress at the 2009 Oscars, according to IMDb.com. She is one of 10 African-American actresses to ever have been nominated for Oscar best actress in the history of the Academy Awards.

Kimmel has been the host of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on ABC since 2003. His show was nominated for an Emmy for outstanding variety series in 2012. Kimmel won a daytime Emmy for hosting "Win Ben Stein's Money" in 1997, according to TV Guide.com.

Kimmel has hosted numerous programs, from the American Music Awards to the White House Correspondence Dinner, according to TVGuide.com.
