Women are clamoring for the fuchsia Seraphine dress that Kate Middleton donned in the first official portrait of the royal family released this week, so much so that it sold out in just two hours on Tuesday.

Kensington Palace unveiled the casual family photos of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George Monday, showing new mom Kate cuddling the royal baby, flanked by William and the family's dogs.

Within hours, Kate's fuchsia Seraphine dress had gone viral, sparking a sharp increase in sales.

"The Kate effect is huge and we have been enjoying a 400 percent growth in sales since it became public that Kate bought Seraphine dresses back in April 2013," Cecile Reinaud, president of Seraphine Maternity, told Hello magazine.

At just $79, the short-sleeved "Jolene" dress knots in the front for a free, flowing fit, and the bright fuchsia hue is flattering on any new mom, says Reinaud.

"Kate has managed to stay true to her feminine and chic style during pregnancy," she told Hello magazine. "She has loved a bit of polka dot and soft prints and has continued to wow us with her stunning figure and legs by opting for slightly shorter hemline and accentuating her empire line."

This isn't the first time Kate's fashion choices have inspired mass buyouts. The birdie swaddle that Prince George left the hospital in last month inspired a 600 percent increase in baby boutique aden + anais' sales and, so many people were trying to order it that the website crashed.
