Actor Morgan Freeman has contributed $1 million to Priorities USA Action, the super PAC supporting President Barack Obama.

The group’s government filing Friday will reveal that Freeman made the gift in June, part of Priorities USA’s $6 million haul for the month, Fox News reports.

Freeman, who won an Academy Award for his role in “Million Dollar Baby,” offered a statement lauding Obama.

“President Obama has done a remarkable job in historically difficult circumstances,” Freeman said. “He ended combat operations in Iraq, put in place sensible reforms of Wall Street, saved the auto industry, and protected the healthcare of every American. He has led our nation to be more tolerant and placed impressive, accomplished women on the Supreme Court.”

Freeman’s donation to the super PAC matches that of comedian Bill Maher.
