Erin Andrews went into reporter mode on Monday's edition of "Dancing With the Stars," awkwardly asking singer James Maslow and his professional dance partner Peta Murgatroyd if they are dating.

The surprise question, which came after Maslow and his "Switch Up" partner Cheryl Burke finished their routine, caught the Big Time Rush star and Murgatroyd off-guard, resulting in an awkward silence, Us Weekly reported.

"Can I just say this? Can you tell us you're dating? I want a 'Dancing With the Stars' baby," newly appointed "DWTS" cohost Andrews said to the pair. "You're adorable! Come on, who doesn't want this?"

"Oh my God. You can't have a baby while you're dancing, alright? So that's not gonna happen," Murgatroyd said in response.

Relationship rumors have been swirling about Maslow and Murgatroyd ever since the first week of competition when it was revealed that the two once went on a date.

After Monday's show, Maslow tried to keep things lighthearted in an interview with E! News.

"Thanks, Erin," he joked. "I appreciate that one. I'm 23 years old, I'm not even going to think about a baby for, I don't know, 10 more years. So very cute, thanks for bringing that one out live."

Murgatroyd also brushed off the relationship rumors.

"That was funny," Murgatroyd said to E! News about Andrews' question. "Oh my gosh, I don't know where this is going to end, but we're having a great time with each other and yeah, leave it at that."
