Emmy Rossum worried fans this week when she was photographed sobbing on a snowy street, but it turns out the 27-year-old actress was just filming scenes for her hit Showtime series "Shameless."
Rossum, who plays Fiona on the popular dramedy, was captured on camera with tears streaming down her face standing in what looked like a snowy street. But after some gossip sites published the photos and implied that something was wrong, Rossum set the record straight on Twitter.

Rossum has won critical acclaim for her role in "Shameless," which TV reviewers have hailed as "wonderfully impressive."
The actress talked about playing Fiona, a young woman who's raising her five siblings in place of her alcoholic father (William H. Macy), in a 2011 interview with IGN.com
"The show kind of centers around Fiona, although a lot happens in the surrounding areas around her. I feel like she's the one sane mind amidst all these clowns, almost," Rossum said. "And so it's interesting, especially to center a show about dark subject matter around a young woman.
"I think for any character you approach, you approach it from how they grew up and their backstory and everything and I think that looking at the typical structure of a family of children of alcoholics, you have the one who is the rebel and the one who is the kind of joker and the one who basically picks up the pieces — and that is who she is. That is how she functions."
The fourth season of "Shameless" is scheduled to premiere Sunday at 9 p.m. EST on Showtime.
