Michelle Duggar, star Mom of the TLC reality show "19 Kids and Counting," received a surprise haircut and makeover courtesy of her daughters this week, after going 40 years without changing her hair style.
The 46-year-old mother of 19 from Arkansas discussed the transformation
with People Magazine.
“Going from curly to totally straight was a shock for me,” Duggar told People, “but I am loving it and I have been doing both styles, curly and straight, since the cut. ... Little Josie kept touching my hand and saying, ‘Mommy? Mommy? Mommy?’ She wanted to make sure I was still me.”
Reactions to the new look have been positive from pop culture critics and bloggers online, with
Celebrity Cafe describing the new style as “Sexy and modern,” and
The Hollywood Gossip exclaiming “I love it!”
The show, which follows the 21-member Duggar family throughout their day-to-day lives, reveals a type of family-unit that is foreign to most modern families that generally consist of three children or less. A reality TV hit, "19 Kids and Counting" is now in its 10th season on TLC.
