A Dodgers fan has died after being stabbed during a fight with Giants fans following the teams facing off Wednesday night at AT&T Stadium.
Jonathan Denver, 24, was stabbed about 90 minutes after the game ended and just blocks from the stadium. Police told the San Francisco Chronicle they received a call that a group of 10 people

NBC’s Bay Area affiliate reported that Denver was not wearing Dodgers gear
but was with a group of people who were. Reports have varied, with some media reporting he was wearing a Dodgers hat. Police are still investigating.
Two people were arrested after the fight, aged 21 and 19, although police have not released their names.
“We’re still sorting it out but we want to assure the public the bad guys are in custody,” Police Chief Greg Suhr told the Chronicle.
Denver, of Fort Bragg, Calif., had attended the game with his father and brother, the Chronicle said.
The fierce rivalry between the Giants and Dodgers has spawned fan violence in the past. Denver’s death occurred days after a fundraiser to help a victim of violence that occurred in 2009, Sports Illustrated said
. Giants fan Bryan Stow sustained brain injuries during a beating after a game.
Horrified fans took to Twitter to express their disbelief that people take baseball so seriously:
NBC’s Bay Area station reported that police are considering upping the security for tonight’s game, the third and final game of the series between the Giants and Dodgers.
