A surprised Pennsylvania woman driving to a Dave Matthews concert gave a ride to a stranded bicyclist — who happened to be Dave Matthews.
Matthews was taking a pre-concert bike ride in Hershey, Pa., on Saturday when his bike broke down. Emily Kraus was driving with her boyfriend to the show when they saw the Grammy-winning singer and songwriter on the side of the road.

“We saw him on the other side of the road and we pulled my car in here,” Kraus told WHP-TV, a CBS affiliate.
“And he picks up his bike and throws it up here.”
Kraus and her boyfriend were more than a little surprised, to say the least.
“We didn’t know how to make conversation with him in fact, so we were talking about his tour and where he had come from,” Kraus told the news station. “He had just been in Cincinnati and he said, 'I’m taking a short break after this one because I have to drop my daughters off at camp.' He was just a very humble guy.”
Matthews invited the couple to dinner, got them backstage, made sure they watched the concert from the front row, and signed their tickets.
“Awesome,” tweeted Steve Craig (@TheSteveShow). “Pays to be a Good Samaritan.”
“Another reason Dave Matthews is such a legit guy and performer,” tweeted @PatrickDeavours
“If only Dave Matthews could hitchhike back to 1997,” tweeted @ComedyCentral.
Matthews joked about the incident during the concert.
“I was riding my bicycle. And then I got a flat tire on my bicycle. And then I didn’t have a cell phone on my bicycle. So I thought, s—. Then a nice lady named Emily rode up in a red car with a bicycle rack on it and gave me a ride on to the gig. Thank you.”
Kraus told WHP-TV: “I woke up this morning and I rolled over and I said, 'OK, yeah that really happened yesterday.' It was surreal. We couldn’t believe it.”
