A construction-themed park called Diggerland will be opening in New Jersey next month, allowing both children and adults to fulfill their builder fantasies by operating heavy-equipment for a day while enjoying the thrills of amusement park rides inspired by machinery.
Located in West Berlin, New Jersey, outside Philadelphia, Diggerland is said to be based on four similar parks in the United Kingdom where individuals can ride construction machinery while excavating the earth, all under the supervision of trained park employees, The Associated Press reported

The New Jersey amusement park is owned by Ilya Girlya and his family, who also run a nearby indoor water park called Sahara Sam’s, the AP noted.
"The opportunity to take the concept of a construction theme park and make it our own was very exciting for us," Girlya said in a press release
"My family has a very personal connection to the project, just as we did with Sahara Sam’s five years ago," Girlya added. "Construction has been in my family for many years so it was a natural fit for us to build a construction theme park."
On Thursday, the construction-themed amusement park hosted members of the press and some visitors to showcase their rides. One of those in attendance was New Jersey mom Lisa Rupertus who was accompanied by her 3-year-old son Jace, who wore an "I make dirt look good" T-shirt.
After taking a spin on the carousel, Rupertus told the AP, "He's very excited," and then pointing to her other two sons who were also with her, adding, "So is my 13-year-old and my 11-year-old."
Diggerland USA is scheduled to open June 14 with full-day tickets costing $35 each. There is no additional cost for individual rides.
