The Environmental Protection Agency's four-year task list no longer includes climate change action and prevention, a central focus for former President Barack Obama's EPA.

The agency released a 38-page strategic plan last week for public comment, but the phrase "climate change" doesn't appear even once, CNN noted.

The document lists the EPA’s four main priorities as establishing clean air, land, and water; rebalancing the power between states “to create tangible environmental results for the American people”; enhancing shared accountability; and administering the law “to refocus the Agency on its statutory obligations under the law.”

Obama's EPA plan developed in 2014 referenced "climate change" more than 40 times, CNN reported.

The new plan comes on the heels of a proposal to repeal the Obama administration’s Clean Power Plan. The detailed 198-page document details how scrapping of the plan could greatly reduce government’s estimates of the cost of climate change.

Commenting on the omission of climate change from the EPA’s four-year strategic plan, Dr. Rachel Cleetus, a lead economist and climate policy, slammed the agency.

"Climate change is one of the most pressing challenges of our time and it doesn't even appear in the strategic plan for this agency -- that's stunning," Cleetus said, according to CNN. "This wasn't an oversight, this is a deliberate strategy by this administration."

Meanwhile, EPA spokeswoman Liz Bowman told CNN they are "focused on tangible environmental results for the American people: cleaning up contaminated land, punishing those that break environmental laws to the detriment to human health and the environment -- and providing more Americans with access to clean air, land, and water."
