Chuck Norris Takes Van Damme's Volvo Split Airborne (Video)

Chuck Norris spoofed Jean-Claude Van Damme's viral truck-split Volvo commercial in epic fashion last week when he took it to new heights. Literally. He does his split between two flying planes, with a full pack.

Last month Van Damme made the Internet rounds with an ad for Volvo, which had the 53-year-old martial artist straddling two trucks.

"I've had my ups and downs, my fair share of bumpy roads and heavy winds," he says in a voiceover as Enya's "Only Time" plays in the background. "That's what made me what I am today. Now I stand here before you, what you see is a body crafted to perfection, a pair of legs engineered to defy the laws of physiques and a mindset to master the most epic of splits."

Van Damme's stunt quickly went viral.

"It's going to be quite unusual, and the first time we'll ever see anything like it – in a movie or a commercial," the Belgian said in a statement from Volvo last month before the ad came out. "Before doing the split between the trucks, I saw the storyboard and thought it looked amazing. It's very majestic and very powerful."

Now Norris has upped the game with a parody of Van Damme's split. The clip, engineered by Hungarian animation company Delov Digital, starts out with a close-up of the 73-year-old "Walker, Texas Ranger" star's face.

As the camera slowly zooms out, the audience sees that Norris is standing between two airplanes mid-flight, with one foot on each wing. They gradually separate as he sinks into a deep split.

The camera zooms out a little more and we see that Norris has 11 servicemen balanced carefully atop his head. They're decked out in Christmas lights as a holiday message appears above it all: "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!"

YouTube users got a kick out of the parody commercial.

"Van Damme go home," one person commented.

"Just an ordinary day of Chuck Norris," someone else posted.
