"I like to do things and have fun," Brinkley told Us Weekly about her workout routine to stay in shape, as she flaunted her black mini dress with a plunging neckline. "I really go use the Total Fitness gym. That's not just advertising."

Brinkley shared a number of photos via Instagram from the Sports Illustrated Party, including one with "X-Men" star Rebecca Romijn, and Kate Upton expressing affection for Brinkley's son Jack Brinkley-Cook.

Brinkley appeared on three straight Sports Illustrated covers in 1979, 1980, and 1981. The covers led to Brinkley's 25-year career with Cover Girl and made her a cultural icon.

Responding to the interest, Brinkley posted more of her hard work training secrets on Facebook.

Born in Detroit in 1954, she has been married and divorced four times, most notably to singer Billy Joel from 1985 to 1994. She has one daughter with Joel, one son with Richard Taubman, and another daughter with Peter Cook, whom she divorced in 2008.

The Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, which first appeared in 1964, remains one of Time Inc.'s biggest revenue drivers. The 1997 edition brought in $1 billion and in 1995 brought in $35 million in ad sales alone, Forbes reported.

The edition, which has also grown such merchandising spinoffs like the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Calendar, accounts for 7 percent of the magazine's revenue annually.
