Cameron Diaz has written a diet and lifestyle book titled "The Body Book: The Law of Hunger, the Science of Strength, and Other Ways to Love Your Amazing Body."

In the book, the 41-year-old Diaz, known for movies such as "There's Something About Mary," "Gangs of New York," and "Charlie's Angels," tells women they should "stop hating their bodies, understand them, take care of their bodies and put that energy that they would be turning on themselves in a negative way out to the world in a positive way."

Diaz admits in the book that she grew up as a fast-food junkie, living off the likes of burgers, fries, onion rings, and bean burritos, which she often washed down with soda.

"When I was in junior high, my friend's brother worked at Taco Bell," Diaz wrote. "Every day after school, I would come by and order one bean burrito with extra cheese and extra sauce, no onions, and he would always give me two. Every day after school, I ate two bean burritos and a Coke. Every single day, for three years, that was what I ate.

"If you are what you eat, I was a bean burrito with extra cheese and extra sauce, no onions," Diaz jokes.

According to Diaz, the fast-food obsession did not affect her body weight, but did contribute to her suffering from constant bouts with acne.

"I had terrible, terrible skin," Diaz wrote. "It was embarrassing, and I did everything I could think of to make it go away. ... Nothing helped for very long. The pimples were still there through high school and into my twenties, while I was modeling and acting. ... It was awkward and embarrassing and frustrating, and I always felt really bad about myself."

It was only after she revamped her diet and began to eat healthy that her skin cleared up, Diaz wrote.

So what does Diaz's diet consist of? The actress says she mainly consumes "whole foods" close to their "natural form," USA Today reported.

Specifically, Diaz says a frequent breakfast dish she eats consists of egg whites, sauteed greens, and oatmeal from steel-cut oats.

As healthy as Diaz's diet is, the actress says she also allows herself to take breaks from her all-natural menu and will indulge in a cheeseburger or "bean burrito with extra cheese and extra sauce" when she has a craving, however the trick is to have it in moderation.

For the many of us who do not currently subscribe to a healthy diet, Diaz recommends a gradual shift until such healthy eating habits are second nature.

"If you drink five sodas a day, just drink two and see the difference. Cut them out completely, and you'll see a difference," Diaz writes. "Replace them with water, and you'll really see a difference."

Diaz also recommends daily exercise, particularly kicking exercise to work the stomach muscles and a weight routine for the upper body.

And for those of us who spend most of our days sitting at a desk answering a phone or glued to a computer screen, Diaz says toning butt muscle exercises are the key.

"Squeeze your butt muscles," Diaz writes. "Yes, right now, while you're sitting. ... With the recognition that we can build muscle by engaging it anytime, anywhere, all of our movements can become strengthening movements."
