Liberals 'Detest' Black Conservatives, Coulter Says

By Hiram Reisner   |   Tuesday, 01 Nov 2011 04:40 AM

Conservative commentator Ann Coulter says accusations that presidential hopeful Herman Cain sexually harassed two women while CEO of the National Restaurant Association are just another indication that liberals “detest” conservative blacks. Coulter also told Fox News’ Sean Hannity it is ironic that liberal Democrats claim that criticism of President Barack Obama can be construed as racist.

“People who don’t like Obamacare is, oh, you must be racist — no, I think we are upset because he is wrecking the country — maybe that figures in to it, we are against socialized healthcare,” Coulter said. “And this is why liberals detest, detest, detest conservative blacks. I mean, they’re haranguing blacks and tell them: You can’t be Republican, you can’t be Republican.

“It is so hard for a black to be a Republican — and then when we don’t have that many Republicans or blacks showing up at a Republican event: ‘Oh, you have no blacks there’ — well, maybe if you want haranguing them so much,” she said. “In any event, this is now the second time a conservative black has had outrageous — and what appear to be false — allegations of a sexual nature leveled against him by the left, Clarence Thomas of course.

“And it’s ironic because the sexual harassment laws — ironic in a cruel vicious horrible way — civil rights laws were designed to protect blacks from Democrats,” Coulter continued. “From Democrat laws, from Democrat segregators, from Democrat governors, and Democrats in the White House wouldn’t protect them.”

Coulter said liberals ignore Cain’s positive qualities because “all they see is a conservative black man.”

“Look at how they go after [Florida Rep.] Allen West? Look at how they go after [former Republican National Committee Chairman] Michael Steele,” Coulter said. “To become a black Republican, you don’t just roll into it — you are not going with the flow — you have fought against probably your family members, probably your neighbors, you have thought everything out and that’s why we have very impressive black people in our party.”
