Bristol Palin Considering Political Career

Bristol Palin may go from reality show fame to political stardom by following in the footsteps of her high-profile mom, former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Appearing on the Fox News Channel in an interview with Sean Hannity, Bristol told the host that she is open to the option of pursuing a future political career.

“I don't think I'd shut [the door] completely yet,” she said.

Bristol was making the media rounds to promote her new reality show, “Life's a Tripp,” which premieres Tuesday on the Lifetime network.

The program is being promoted as a window into the world of “America's most famous teen mom” as she deals with the same intense media scrutiny that any highly photographed politician would.

“People are going to see the real Bristol in this show,” the 21-year-old told ABC’s “Good Morning America,” adding the personal description of being “just a grounded, normal mom.”

The former “Dancing With the Stars” contestant is not the first reality show cast member to consider a run for office in the real world.

Gary Coleman, star of “Surreal Life,” made a run for California governor in the Golden State’s 2003 recall election, which resulted in actor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s gubernatorial win.

Kim Kardashian, who is perhaps the most recognizable reality show personality in the world, has also expressed a desire to enter the political arena by seeking the office of Mayor of Glendale, California.
