Brian Kilmeade, Fox Anchor, Makes Trick-Shot Baby Cry (Video)

By David Ogul   |   Thursday, 11 Jul 2013 04:21 PM

Fox anchor Brian Kilmeade made a baby cry Thursday when he inadvertently passed a basketball into the face of YouTube sensation Trick Shot Titus, and the video quickly went viral. The toddler took the hard foul from Kilmeade  on "Fox & Friends" after the boy had made numerous successive shots.

While 2-year-old Titus Ashby can make basket after basket, the tot can't quite catch yet. When Kilmeade tossed the ball back to him, he was startled as it hit him in the face, and the boy began to cry. A chagrined Kilmeade cut to a commercial and an onlooker yelled out, "You’re fired!" to the host.

Kilmeade can be seen apologizing to the boy’s father and trying to comfort the toddler, but a video of the episode quickly went viral.

"Brian Kilmeade forgets that 2 yr olds cannot catch," tweeted @AntiBigBroGov.

"That’s it. Now Fox News has gone too far," tweeted @DangerGuerrero.

"All those shots and no passing? Ball hog had it coming," quipped @PhilKenSaban on Twitter.

Titus has become a media darling since his family posted a video of him making successful shot after shot into a basket.

In an interview with the Deseret News, Titus’s dad, Joseph Ashby said his son was a natural.

“He used to watch basketball with me after the other kids went to bed, when he was still a baby. Then he first started dropping a ball into a hoop when he was about 15 months,” Ashby told the news organization.

It wasn’t long before Ashby and his wife, Kristin, decided to put together a video of Trick Shot Titus.

“We joked around about it going viral, but we didn’t think it would ever happen,” Kristin Ashby told the Deseret News. “After we posted it, we started getting calls and comments on the videos, and then it just kept getting more popular. We were just bombarded with emails, calls and media requests.”

The video has been viewed on YouTube more than 12 million times.

Last month on the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" show Titus whipped legendary NBA center Shaquille O’Neal during a shooting contest . It was his second appearance on national television; he had earlier taken Kimmel to school while shooting buckets.
