According to The Associated Press, Barker, 90, will be interviewed by Liam Spencer, played by actor Scott Clifton, for a story on controlling of the pet population. Barker tells Spencer to see the work being done to save homeless animals by visiting a local animal shelter. His appearance is part of a three-day story arc about animal rescue.

"The Bold and the Beautiful" is in its 27th season on CBS. It debuted in 1987.

Barker hosted the long-running "Price is Right" game show, now helmed by Drew Carey, for 35 years. His daily signoff ended with the words, "Help control the pet population. Have your pet spayed or neutered."

In December 2013, Barker returned to the show to celebrate his 90th birthday in conjunction with the show's Pet Adoption Week.
