Tish Cyrus, wife of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, and mom of country singer Miley Cyrus, filed for divorce Friday citing “irreconcilable differences” with husband Billy Ray, TMZ reported.

Tish and Billy Ray married in December of 1993. In addition to superstar Miley Cyrus, the couple has four other children.

In the initial filing, Miley’s mom is asking for full custody of the couple’s 13-year-old son Noah, child support for Noah, and spousal support.

The couple’s relationship has been rocky for a while. Three years ago, Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce from Tish, but the couple reconciled and the divorce didn't happen.

In a statement to People magazine, Billy Ray Cyrus said: "This is a personal matter and we are doing what is in the best interest of our family. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time."

Miley Cyrus, apparently trying to get her father's attention, tweeted: @billyraycyrus since your text and email obviously aren't working would you like to talk like this?" The tweet appeared to be deleted later.

Billy Ray Cyris is best known for his breakout song "Achy Breaky Heart," released in 1992. As his career slowed, his daughter, Miley, emerged as TV star Hannah Montana, and then as a singer/performer in her own right.

Billy Ray and Miley posed for an Annie Leibovitz photo that appeared in Vanity Fair in June 2008. The propriety of the photo, showing Billy Ray and his scantily-clad teenage daughter raised some eyebrows.
