Bill Murray opened up Tuesday about the death of his friend and frequent co-star Harold Ramis with a short, but touching statement.
"Harold Ramis and I together did the 'National Lampoon Show' off Broadway, 'Meatballs,' 'Stripes,' 'Caddyshack,' 'Ghostbusters,' and 'Groundhog Day,'" the actor said in a statement to Time magazine
. "He earned his keep on this planet. God bless him."

Ramis, who starred in many movies with Murray but also made a career out of directing, died Monday of complications from autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis
, a rare illness that causes a person's blood vessels to swell. He was 69.
Murray wasn’t the only celebrity to mourn the loss of Ramis. Many other stars took to Twitter to remember him.
