Baltimore Ravens running back Bernard Pierce was carjacked and robbed at gunpoint on Sunday, according to multiple reports.

The second-year player was standing with his cousin outside a local pizza place when two men pulled up alongside him in Overbook Park, a neighborhood in West Philadelphia, sources told the Philadelphia Daily News. An armed man in dark clothing leapt out and moved toward them, while the driver reportedly stayed behind the wheel.

The men left with Pierce's wallet, cell phone, and car keys, and sped off in Pierce's black BMW SUV, sources told the paper. No one was hurt in the altercation.

Police recovered the vehicle in another section of town, and were examining it for evidence.

"We have been in contact with Bernard and we are aware of the situation," the Ravens said in a statement.

Pierce, who attended Temple University in Philadelphia, was selected by the Ravens in the third round of the 2012 draft, and served as backup to Ray Rice during his rookie season. He rushed for 532 yards.

Earlier this month, Steelers offensive tackle Michael Adams was stabbed twice during an attempted carjacking on Pittsburgh's South Side. The 23-year-old told police he was standing near his truck shortly after 3 a.m. when three men confronted him, one armed with a knife and one holding a handgun.
