Before heading to the hospital, Purdy told "DWTS" co-host Erin Andrews: "My shoulder's been bothering me a little bit, and then right after judging I turned my head and my back cracked and it just seized up and everything's painful right now. It's hard to breathe."
Dance partner Derek Hough carried Purdy up the stairs to receive their score, 36 out of 40 points.
Purdy’s legs were amputated at age 19 after she contracted bacterial meningitis.
Purdy kept her fans updated on Twitter, asking them on Tuesday to “keep the positive healing thoughts and votes coming.”
Friends and fans, including dancing pro Sharna Burgess, shared support on Twitter.
