German pairs figure skater Aliona Savchenko may not have won gold at the Sochi Olympics this week but her "Pink Panther" themed bodysuit definitely stole the show on Twitter.
Savchenko and partner Robin Szolkowy, four-time world champions, wowed the crowd in Sochi Tuesday with their playful short program set to Henry Mancini's "Pink Panther" theme song. But it was Savchenko's skintight neon pink bejeweled bodysuit that really got people talking.

"For figure skating, you need something new. You need to show what you have," Savchenko, 30, told reporters after her performance. "Our routine and costume is funny. For me it is more fun. I feel really good in this outfit and this program. We need to do something different."
"It is really good for our sport, for figure skating, to bring some color and some new ideas," Szolkowy said. "The only two colors in this competition are yellow from the Italian team and the pink from Aliona. The rest is just black."
Twitter users gushed over Savchenko and her "Pink Panther" bodysuit.
Though Savchenko and Szolkowy's short program score was not enough to overtake Russian powerhouse pair Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov, it was enough to land them a bronze medal after Wednesday's free skating score was factored in.
