Adam Jones says "idiotic" fans who run onto a baseball field while the game is being played should be kicked by players without any consequences.

The Baltimore Orioles Center Fielder made the comments during an interview Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium following his team's win over New York after two fans jumped from the third-base stands and ran out onto the field causing a delay at the bottom of the eighth inning.

"I think it's idiotic for people to run on the field, and I think the punishment needs to be a lot harsher and they should let us have a shot to kick him with our metal spikes on," Jones told reporters. "I just look at it as its stupid, you look like a jackass when you’re on the field."

"We don’t go to other sporting events and do that to their jobs, but they come to ours and do that," Jones added.

The two fans, pictured below, were eventually restrained by New York City Police officers and stadium security.

"I get it, you’re drunk and you want to be on SportsCenter," Jones continued. "Your ass is going to jail with a fine, and you might not be allowed to come back to the ballpark."

To make it clear that Jones' rage wasn't just directed at fans of other teams, the outfielder added, "I remember a couple of years ago, one dude broke his ankle in Baltimore. I was laughing at him. I wish he shattered his finger because it’s stupid. It’s just plain old stupid."

As for what should happen to those misguided individuals who chose to disrupt play with their antics, Jones says "I wish the cops tase the living s--t out of them. I wish that."

An example of a fan being tasered after running onto the field during play occurred during a Philadelphia Phillies game in 2010, as seen in the video below.
