Donald Trump’s business successes are evident so when questioned about them Tuesday, the real estate mogul, reality TV star and potential Republican presidential contender said he also learns from deals that don’t’ pan out as he would’ve liked.

trump, successes, vast"My successes...have been vast,” Trump told NBC News correspondent Michael Isikoff. “I don't even view myself as having failures, and I certainly learned from things that don't work out as well."

Trump said he licenses his name to many businesses. However, he’s not directly involved with their day-to-day operations. When Isikoff asked why he was paid $2 million by Atlantic City hotels and casinos that ended up in bankruptcy, Trump answered: “Excuse me. Because I’m a genius, okay.”

Trump said market forces lead to the bankruptcies.

In recent polls, Trump has been leading the pack of Republicans flirting with running for the party’s 2012 presidential nomination. He has said he expects, and welcomes, the added scrutiny to his business background if he were to run for the White House.
