Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is upsetting more than Republicans. Democrats in the Senate are starting to complain about the lack of legislative progress in their chamber, especially the absence of a Democratic budget, Politico reports.

“On the budget front, I’m not a happy camper around here,” California Sen. Dianne Feinstein told the news service. “I think we need to have a budget that we stand by.”

Arkansas Sen. Mark Pryor noted that the lack of a budget “makes it harder to do things that we just need to do. There are people talking about an education bill, a highway bill, a lot of other things you just don’t know how much you have to spend.”

But Reid has a delicate balancing act. If he does turn activist on the legislative front, his Democratic colleagues may be forced to cast votes that will cost them in next year’s elections.
