The wide-open GOP field with its many undecided, almost-in and running-at-full-tilt presidential hopefuls doesn’t’ worry Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus. His take: Any one of the Republicans vying for the presidency would do better than President Barack Obama, ABC News reported Friday.

priebus, gop, hopeful, obama“I think that all of our choices, so far, are better than where this president is taking our country,” he told ABC News. “And in fact, most Americans agree with me. I think the president, right now, sits at his all-time lowest approval rating with regard to the economy, and the last I checked, the economy is the number one issue.

“It’s the Republicans that are offering solutions and it’s the Democrats that want to avoid the conversation and talk about other things, and you know, go around and raise money. And that’s what this president is good at, and that’s what he’s doing.”

Priebus said the killing of Osama bin Laden won’t be a political advantage for Obama.

“I’m grateful for the fact that Osama bin Laden is -- he’s dead, and thank God for that,” he said. “And I appreciate all the work that the military and the intelligence agencies and the president did in making sure that this happened. But I think at the end of the day this is going to be pocketbook issues. This is an election about jobs. And unfortunately this president’s only concerned about his own job. And I think the American people will see through that easily.”
