Jordan’s Queen Noor said on Monday the Muslim Brotherhood has points of view that need to be heard. The queen was responding to a question from CNN’s Piers Morgan, who referred to a statement earlier in the day on the news network from former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, that the Muslim Brotherhood “is a mortal enemy.”

“I think that is a very polarizing approach to what is taking place in the Middle East that has dominated for a very long time,” she said. “It assumes that any religious group is somehow dangerous and extreme while in fact most Arabs — religion is important to most Arabs – actually are moderate peaceful centrists.

“The Muslim Brotherhood are one of the many groups throughout the region that have points of view that need to come to the table, need to be part of the dialogue and the governance building process, if you will,” the queen added. “But they're only one of a multitude of other groups.

In earlier criticism of the Obama administration’s approach to the Egyptian crisis, Gingrich told CNN’s John King that he found it absurd that the United States might reach out to the Muslim Brotherhood.

“I think this is absolute, total misreading of history. The Muslim Brotherhood is a mortal enemy of our civilization, they say so openly,” Gingrich said.

Gingrich also said the Obama administration’s dealings with the Egyptian turmoil were not very professional.

“I think the fact that they appointed a very able diplomat Frank Wisner and within two days were publicly contradicting him is, you know, so amateurish,” he said. “I was with [former U.N. Ambassador] John Bolton last night. He said it's inconceivable that they would be this clumsy and this out of sync. They can't even get the White House and their special envoy to be on the same page.”
