President Barack Obama is taking heat from Republicans for not adopting a strong enough stand against Iran, which is accused of trying to build nuclear weapons and has threatened to block oil shipments in the Persian Gulf. Now it looks like he’s going to get it from peace advocates, too.

During a fundraising speech in a New York City furniture-store showroom Thursday, a young woman yelled at Obama: “Use your leadership! No war in Iran!” according to a pool report of the event, The Hill reports.

The president’s reply: “Nobody's announced a war, young lady. You're jumping the gun a little bit.”

The incident took place at the third of Obama’s four New York fundraisers Thursday at the ABC Carpet and Home store in Manhattan. A group of about 900 paid $1,000 a pop for an audience with Obama there, The Hill reports.

Obama spoke for about 30 minutes and was discussing foreign policy at the time of the woman’s outburst, according to The Hill. Republicans fear that Obama doesn’t realize the seriousness of Iran’s nuclear threat and that he is afraid to take the steps necessary to prevent Iran from acquiring nukes or to give Israel free license to do so.

Last month, a bipartisan group of senators announced they would back the president if he decided to launch military strikes against Iran's nuclear program.
