A British psychologist has invented what he hopes is a way for people to manipulate their dreams through the use of an iPhone app that plays pleasant “soundscapes” while you sleep, reports Fox News.

The app, which is the brainchild of professor Richard Wiseman, allows iPhone users to play customized soundscapes engineered to manipulate the brain into having pleasant dreams.

“Getting a good night’s sleep and having pleasant dreams boosts people’s productivity and is essential for their psychological and physical well-being. Despite this, we know very little about how to influence dreams. This experiment aims to change that,” Wiseman, a professor at the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield, southern England, said.
