Finnish cell phone maker Nokia Corp. is filing another lawsuit against Apple Inc., this time extending its patent infringement claims to the iPad.
Nokia has already filed complaints against Apple, charging that a broad swath of its products violate Nokia patents. Nokia says the disputed technology helps reduce the size and cost of electronic gadgets.
The company is filing its latest complaint in U.S. District Court in Madison, Wis. It says Apple's products violate five of its patents.
In a statement, Nokia executive Paul Melin said, "We have taken this step to protect the results of our pioneering development and to put an end to continued unlawful use of Nokia's innovation."
