Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Obamacare premised on the belief there were 20 million or so Americans and assorted illegals desperate for health insurance, but no one offered a plan they could afford?

And wasn’t Obamacare supposed to supply that affordable health insurance coverage that in one fell swoop would eliminate insurance anxiety for the 20 million?

Evidently lack–of–health–insurance anxiety wasn’t all that troublesome after all. In fact, judging by what the U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services is doing now, it didn’t even rival heartburn in severity.

Obamacare only works (and I use that term loosely) if coverage is universal. Young people have to volunteer to pay rates higher than their health history would merit, so old people can pay less than their health record justifies.

Call it insurance socialism.

And wouldn’t you know it, the young uninsured don’t think subsidizing granny’s rates is such a great deal after all. Which is why HHS is sponsoring a contest for videos encouraging the young to buy Obamacare policies. It’s called the ‘Healthy Young America’ video contest and $30,000 of your taxpayer dollars will be awarded to over 100 winners.

We’ve seen it time after time. The Obama administration uses your tax dollars to paper over the mistakes and miscalculations that are endemic to Obamacare.

Even better for the administration, each mistake only serves to produce a ‘fix’ that puts more people on the government gravy train.

Young people not signing up for Obamacare? Give money to other young people to make videos to reach the recalcitrant young. Ask Hollywood stars to promote Obamacare and as their ego grows the number of enrollees swells, too

Obamacare too complicated for mere mortals to understand? Hire thousands of ‘Navigators’ to help the confused sign up. The ‘Navigators’ like Obamacare because it’s giving them a check — and the built–in confusion means the money won’t stop any time soon — and the victim, er customer, likes the personal attention a benevolent, all–powerful government is giving them.

Obamacare. It’s the left’s perpetual money machine: Dispensing favors, paychecks and benefits. Making more and more formerly free citizens dependent on Big Government. The complexity and confusion isn’t a bug, it’s a feature!

And the machine will keep running and recruiting far into the future. As long as your taxpayer money holds out.
