Entertainer Wayne Newton — “Mr. Las Vegas” — is backing Majority Leader Harry Reid in his battle with Republican challenger Sharron Angle for the Senate seat from Nevada.

harry,reid,wayne,newton,endorsesNewton campaigned for Reid at a Reno casino on Sunday, Oct. 17, declaring: “I am a proud Republican for Senator Harry Reid,” the Reno Gazette-Journal reported.

He said he had planned a similar event in Las Vegas.
