Real estate billionaire Donald Trump has warned New Jersey GOP Gov. Chris Christie to avoid hiring Stuart Stevens, the top strategist for Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign, if Christie runs for president in 2016.

The governor has been working with Stevens on ads for his re-election in November.

"He did a terrible job for Mitt Romney, absolutely terrible," Trump told Fox News.
"That was a campaign that should have been won," he added. "I don’t know Stuart Stevens from a hole in the wall. I don’t know what he looks like. But I will say this: whoever ran that campaign, that is not the person I would want running my campaign."

Trump said he has heard and read that Christie will employ a campaign staff similar to Romney's. "Of course, Chris is a lot different than Mitt," Trump said. "I think using Stuart Stevens and the group of people that so badly ran Mitt Romney’s campaign is a disaster for Chris."

The reality TV star had already offered criticism of Stevens earlier Tuesday in a posting on Twitter. "@stuartpstevens did a horrible job for Mitt — is a refund in order? Sadly, Stuart is a disaster!" Trump wrote.
