Rep. Michael Turner, R-Ohio, called for a stop to the leaks from the intelligence community, ripping them Sunday for using newspapers to engage in political attacks which undermine the community's own "credibility."
"We cannot have trust in an intelligence community where their main method of communicating is under the masthead of The Washington Post and The New York Times," Turner, a member of House committees focused national security, told "The Cats Roundtable" on 970 AM-N.Y.
"These leaks have to stop. They are certainly undermining the credibility of the intelligence community."
Turner added the intelligence community has proven Russia interfered with the election process but not that Russia's involvement impacted the outcome of President Donald Trump's election.
"There are assessments by our intelligence community that Russia took actions or steps to affect the outcome of the election or certainly to cause doubt, but everyone agrees that Russia had no ability to affect the outcome," Turner told host John Catsimatidis.
"The voting itself, that the outcome of the electorate, that people’s decision-making were all based on issues that were unrelated to any actions from Russia."
