Top GOP leaders, including House Speaker John Boehner and Sens. Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, and Mitch McConnell, will headline a fundraiser for New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez on Tuesday.

Also on the guest list of the $500-a-plate Washington, D.C., gala are Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, Rep. Paul Ryan, and former U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

The Albuquerque Journal reports that Martinez "is widely seen as a rising political star" and recently made trips to Colorado, California, Arizona, and Texas to raise campaign cash.
She was identified after her 2010 election as a GOP vice presidential contender, the newspaper said.

Martinez, who is expected to seek re-election as governor next year, reported having about $1.5 million in her political war chest in April.
