MSNBC host Joe Scarborough is hosting a New Hampshire political event that will likely generate more presidential campaign buzz around the former Republican congressman.

Scarborough will give the keynote address at the Cheshire County Republican Day Dinner in May, reports WMUR TV in Manchester, N.H. The dinner has in recent years featured keynote speakers by former Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass. and 2012 presidential candidate Rick Santorum.

In an email, Pindell told The Huffington Post  that the dinner is "a big annual fundraiser for the Cheshire County Republicans."

Scarborough was also in New Hampshire in March for an appearance at the Northeast
Republican Leadership Conference
. An MSNBC spokeswoman said the network's hosts often participate in events where there is a fee for attending, but that the "Morning Joe" was not part of any fundraising activities.

The former congressman, who was a member of House Speaker Newt Gingrich's conservative revolution in the 1990s, told a packed audience at the event that he is open to the possibility of returning to politics despite the popularity of his show.
