Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush energized supporters for Republican gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott at a weekend campaign rally in Orlando, emphasizing that Scott is the "the right guy at the right time.”
The last three polls show the Florida governor's race is close, with a strong Republican trend under way. Rasmussen Reports has Scott with a 3 percentage point lead over Sink.
In the closing hours of the campaign both candidates are focusing on their political parties to turn out their base voters, according to the St. Petersburg Times.
Sink leads by 4 percentage points in a Quinnipiac University poll, but the survey found that 9 percent of those who favor a candidate indicate they could change their mind by Tuesday.
That's why Bush fired up the faithful for Scott on Saturday at the Orlando rally.
"There 's a cloud on our state. There's a lot of pessimism in our state right now," Bush said, according to the Times. "I think we need a can-do leader that lifts the cloud, that inspires us to be better and to do better. ... Rick Scott understands that because he has lived the American dream."
Scott is "the right guy at the right time," Bush said in a news conference later.
