The House Republican Conference unveiled a new website on Wednesday devoted to bringing "the facts straight to the American people" on the Libyan attacks that killed four U.S. citizens on Sept. 11, 2012.
"The families of the fallen, and the American people, deserve to know the truth," House Speaker John Boehner's office said in announcing the site, GOP.gov/Benghazi.
"They deserve justice."
The assault on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans, including two former Navy SEALS. The White House has contended that the attacks began as a peaceful protest against an anti-Muslim film that was later "hijacked" by militants.
"Shortly after the attack, Republicans asked the Obama administration to explain its actions, as well as the fact that publicly-available information consistently contradicted its characterization of events," the GOP release said.
"After being stonewalled, House committees began a serious, exhaustive, and deliberate investigation into what led up to this tragic event, what transpired, and why the White House refused — and still refuses — to tell the whole truth."
Entitled "The House Republican Investigation of Benghazi," the website will contain all the unclassified information and findings from the ongoing House inquiry, with new information added as it becomes available.
"This site brings the facts straight to the American people by way of hundreds of pages of documents and transcripts the White House doesn’t want you to read," the statement said.
