Several Democratic senators in tight races for re-election are mum on the same-sex marriage debate, signaling that the fight is far from over.
BuzzFeed notes that Republican Senator Rob Portman changed his position on gay marriage just a week ago, saying he wanted his gay son to have the same ability to enjoy a committed marriage relationship that he has. Vulnerable Democrats, though, have not been quick to follow.
Sens. Kay Hagan, Mary Landrieu, Mark Begich and Mark Pryor all either declined to take a position or declined comment to BuzzFeed.

"I am really concerned right now about the budget, about jobs in my state," Hagan told BuzzFeed.
The North Carolina senator previously has opposed a same-sex marriage ban in her state.
Said Louisiana’s Mary Landrieu” "I feel very strongly that people should be allowed to love who they love, but unfortunately my state has a very strong ban against gay marriage constitutionally, so I'm going to have to think really carefully and listen to the voters of my state about that issue.”
While the Supreme Court takes up challenges this coming week to the federal Defense of Marriage Act and California’s Propostion 8, which ban gay marriage, several politicians, such as Portman and Hillary Clinton, have announced their support.
