Americans for Prosperity on Wednesday launched television ads in four states targeting Democratic legislators seeking re-election this fall over their support for Obamacare.

"All across the country, millions of Americans from all walks of life continue to suffer the negative impact of Obamacare," Tim Phillips, AFP's president, said in a statement. He said that the incumbent Democrats "continue to support the law, while closing their eyes to all the harm being caused in their own states as a result.

"These politicians are doing a disservice to their constituents when they refuse to acknowledge that Obamacare is leading to cancelled plans, higher costs, and lost access to doctors," Phillips added.

The six-figure ad buy places the 30-second spots, which will run for several weeks, in these states:
  • Colorado, where Sen. Mark Udall is facing a strong challenge from GOP Rep. Cory Gardner.
  • Louisiana, where Sen. Mary Landrieu is facing three Republican challengers, the strongest being Rep. Bill Cassidy.
  • Michigan, where Rep. Gary Peters has been surpassed in recent polls by former GOP Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land.
  • New Hampshire, where incumbent Sen. Jeanne Shaheen will square off against former Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown, who moved to the state in late December and announced his candidacy last week.
