Gillibrand, DioGuardi Debate in NY Senate Race

TROY, N.Y. (AP) — Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (KEHR'-sten JIHL'-uh-brand) and Republican rival Joe DioGuardi are trading barbs over job creation in a televised debate.

The debate Thursday night in Troy comes six days after their first spirited debate in New York City, in which the two sparred over health care, terrorism trials and each other's trustworthiness.

Polls show Gillibrand, a former congresswoman appointed to replace Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, with a wide lead over DioGuardi.

DioGuardi is a former congressman from Westchester County.

TROY, N.Y. (AP) — New York Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (KEHR'-sten JIHL'-uh-brand) and Republican rival Joe DioGuardi are debating for a second time.

Thursday night's matchup in Troy comes six days after a spirited debate in New York City in which the two candidates sparred over health care, terror trials and each other's trustworthiness.

Polls show Gillibrand, a former congresswoman appointed to replace Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, with a wide lead over DioGuardi.
