Yet another piece of evidence shows that Americans are fed up with both parties. A new Washington Post-ABC News survey indicates that 48 percent of Americans see the need for a third party, with nearly the same amount, 49 percent, holding the opposite view.

A total of 22 percent say they would definitely vote for a third-party candidate, and another 46 percent say they would consider it. A total of 28 percent say they wouldn’t consider it.

A total of 61 percent of independents support the idea of a third party, while about the same percentage of Democrats and Republicans don’t. Liberals yearn for a third party more than conservatives – 60 percent to 39 percent.
