While the cast of possible GOP presidential candidates already includes quite a few names, don’t be surprised if more arrive out of left field, says Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, Politico reports.

"We don't know who's gonna be in the race," he said at an event in Washington hosted by the Christian Science Monitor. "It's still pretty early."

Given the major issues at stake, particularly the nation’s exploding debt burden, "I think many people are going to feel compelled to get into the race and make a difference, Priebus said.

"Many of the folks that are exploring running for president will likely get in the race. And perhaps some other folks we're not talking about might get in the race."

The full field should be in place by summer, Priebus added.
