A group supporting Rep. Ron Paul slams his rival Jon Huntsman in a cheaply produced YouTube ad that has been attacked as racist.

The ad, produced by New Hampshire Liberty 4 Paul, asks, “What’s he hiding?” and describes him as “The Manchurian Candidate.” It shows the Republican presidential candidate and former U.S. ambassador to China speaking Mandarin, talking with the Chinese press, touring that country, and holding Asian babies -- all to the tune of Chinese music.

“American values or Chinese?” reads one pop-up text. “Weak on China? Wonder why?” reads another. The video ends with an illustration showing the grinning candidate in a Maoist military uniform.

The group appears to have no connection with Paul or his campaign, reports Mediaite.com.

“[E]ven in the event that this ad is revealed to be a joke, the fact that most take it at face value is indicative of precisely the challenge Rep. Paul faces and what kind of campaign many – rightfully or otherwise – believe he is capable of,” Mediaite noted.
