The two biggest names who haven’t decided yet on whether to run for the Republican presidential nomination are Texas Gov. Rick Perry and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. The two have a budding friendship, The Hill reports.

And the bond is becoming so tight that one of them may readily endorse the other should he/she decide to launch a presidential bid. That would represent crucial support for the endorsee, likely establishing him/her as the tea party favorite.

The friendship began when Palin was still governor (2006-09). And it was cemented in last year’s Texas GOP gubernatorial primary, when the incumbent Perry faced strong opposition from Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison.

Palin endorsed Perry early and strongly.

“He does what is right regardless of whether it is popular. He walks the walk of a true conservative,” Palin wrote.
